UMOVE started in 2023 with one simple goal: make good-quality trailer hire affordable and straightforward for people across Leeds and West Yorkshire.
Today the growing fleet covers everything from camping breaks and motorbikes to house moves and car transport. UMOVE is also an authorised dealer for British-built Tickners Trailers.
TRAILER HIRE FAQ
Good to know before you tow
Can my vehicle tow this trailer?
Check the towing capacity shown on your vehicle’s V5 and the trailer’s plated weight. If you’re unsure, call UMOVE before booking.
Which driving licence do I need?
Your entitlement depends on when you passed your test and the combined plated weights. Check your licence categories and GOV.UK towing guidance.
What identification must I bring?
Bring your full driving licence, a recent utility bill, the towing vehicle V5 and a matching legal rear number plate.
Is insurance included?
Cover and responsibilities depend on the hire agreement and intended journey. Confirm unusual, commercial or European use with UMOVE before booking.
How are deposits handled?
The refundable security deposit is shown with each trailer. You can pay it securely online with the hire charge or choose to pay it at collection. It is returned subject to the hire terms.
Can I take a trailer into Europe?
European travel may be possible, but you must agree it with UMOVE before booking so documents, insurance and equipment can be checked.
What happens if I return late?
Contact UMOVE immediately. Late returns can affect the next customer and may incur charges under the hire agreement.
Are straps and number plates supplied?
Security equipment is included. A made-to-order 4D number plate and motorcycle chock/strap kit can be added where offered.
