Hire, sales and website useTerms and conditions
The terms that apply when you use this website, hire a trailer or purchase goods from UMOVE.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of this website and the trailer hire services and goods offered by UMOVE. By using the website or placing a booking or order, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms and agree to be bound by them.
Prices, hire charges and deposits may change at our discretion. The price shown at checkout for your selected trailer and options will apply to that order.
2. Website use
You must use this website lawfully and must not infringe the intellectual property rights of UMOVE or any third party, interfere with the website, attempt unauthorised access, or use the website for fraudulent or illegal purposes. We may restrict access where we reasonably believe these terms or the law have been breached.
3. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the website content - including text, images, logos, documents, downloads and the overall site presentation - belongs to Andrew Jones, UMOVE, the site's creators or the relevant rights holder. It may not be copied or reused without permission except where the law allows.
4. Trailer hire
Trailer hire is subject to availability, the suitability of the towing vehicle and driver, verification of any information or identification we request, payment of the quoted hire charge and deposit, and acceptance of the booking by UMOVE.
You are responsible for using the trailer lawfully and safely, following the guidance supplied, securing loads correctly, remaining within towing and weight limits, and returning the trailer and supplied equipment at the agreed time and in the condition in which it was provided, allowing for fair wear and tear.
Damage to, loss of, or non-return of hired equipment may result in reasonable charges for repair or replacement at current market value. This does not limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
5. Hire cancellations
- 72 hours or more before collection: hire fees paid will be refunded in full.
- Less than 72 hours but more than 48 hours before collection: 50% of the hire fees paid will be refunded.
- 48 hours or less before collection: the hire fees paid will not be refunded.
Cancellation notice must be given by email to info@umovetrailerhire.co.uk, or by telephone or text message to 07871 963516. A cancellation takes effect when the notice is received.
6. Trailer sales and other goods
We are under a legal duty to supply goods that conform to the contract. Descriptions, specifications and photographs are provided as accurately as reasonably possible. The online configurator shows the base trailer price, the price of each selected extra and the complete amount payable.
New trailers are normally made or configured to order. Online purchases are for collection from our Leeds base unless delivery has been agreed with us separately before ordering. We will contact you after payment to confirm the expected collection date and keep you updated.
We may reject or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where a listed specification or option has become unavailable. If we cancel after taking payment, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled order.
7. Payments
Available payment methods will be shown when you book or order. By providing payment information, you confirm that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method and authorise the displayed amount to be charged. Online card payments are processed by Square.
8. Consumer cancellation rights
Where a statutory right to cancel applies to a distance or off-premises sale, you may exercise it within the applicable cancellation period by contacting us using the details above. Some contracts and services may be exempt, and different rules may apply once a service has begun at your request or where goods are made to your specifications.
If a statutory cancellation right applies and goods have been supplied, you must return them as soon as reasonably possible and may be responsible for return costs. We may make deductions permitted by law for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods. Any refund due will be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
9. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other mandatory consumer protection law. If these terms conflict with a right that cannot lawfully be excluded, that legal right takes priority.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that, UMOVE is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made or for business losses suffered by a consumer.
11. Changes, severability and governing law
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the law, the website or the way we operate. The terms in force when a booking or order is accepted will apply to that transaction unless a change is required by law.
If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be subject to the courts that apply under law.
